If we have our own why in life, we shall get along with almost any how.

I’m Arc NineOhNine, yes, not my real name, a sportsbike rider from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Let’s get my name out of the way. I’ve been a member of the Australian club Netrider since 2008, where members employ pseudonyms. The “arc” stems from the arc naming convention, an IT joke for the cognoscenti. All my online personas have had “arc” at their start (which is part of the “joke”).
What we do though as motorcyclists and specifically sportsbike riders is no joke. Sure it’s fun, sure we enjoy what we do, but it’s not a joke. I take extremely seriously this sport of ours, sometimes in the past a little too seriously but with a firm understanding of the risks involved.
Through this site I’m seeking to share my experience and hopefully some grains of wisdom to you, a fellow sportsbike rider.

The open road calls you, beckons you, needs you and you need it.

Symbiosis, mutual need, attraction, desire; the journey transports us.

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process is its own reward.
